Special Needs Fund

The Arc–Mid-Columbia

Special Needs Fund
For people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)

Is there an activity or event that you want to attend but just don’t feel you can afford it?  — Or something for your home that would make a big difference to you but doesn’t fit into your budget?

The Arc of the Mid-Columbia has created a Special Needs Fund (SNF) to enable recipients to do something or acquire something special that would not otherwise be affordable.  The SNF Committee will consider requests ranging from $10 to a maximum of $200. Requests, for example, might be for a comfortable chair at home, tuition for a class, or help with attendance at a special event.

Our goal is that the SNF might make a difference in the life of some of our friends and neighbors with I/DD and that the fund will promote their independence and quality of life.

Memorials and Donations from Arc-Mid-Columbia members and friends pay for the SNF.  We want to use the fund carefully. The Arc-Mid-Columbia limits help to any one individual to not more than once a year in most cases.

If you would like more information about the SNF or want help completing our short SNF application form, send an email to jcarroll@gorge.net with your telephone number.  A SNF volunteer will be happy to call you back within a few days.

You can download and print the forms below. If you need paper copies mailed to you please contact us.
